"We followed along as Scott Hicks and Dan Schultz at Brad's Custom Auto installed an Auto Meter boost and fuel pressure double team on your author's Vortech blown '93 LX."
"Dan Schultz gets underway by removing the center vent assembly. Schultz prepared the simple gauge wiring and slipped it all into flexible black conduit before routing it from the vent opening to the driver's footwell. He spliced the two light feeds into one hot wire and one ground, and packaged these up with the boost tubing and fuel pressure wiring. As per Auto Meter's instructions, Schultz also nipped enough room out of the plastic vent plenum to allow the wiring to pass by."
"In the absence of the proper fuel rail adapter, we opted to mount the sending unit remotely on the strut tower. Frankly, this is the preferred method in racing and high rpm applications, where high vibrations could cause fuel rail failure were the sending unit hung there. Hardly a concern for our predominately street driven subject car, remote mounting was the obvious choice given our situation."
"...Hicks preferred to whip up a just-right-length custom line using -4 braided line and 45-degree AN fittings at each end. At the fuel rail, Hicks removed the Schrader valve and connected to the port using a 1/16-inch pipe thread to -4 AN adapter, while a -4 AN to 1/8-inch pipe thread adapter was used to mate up with the sending unit."
"...Hicks suggested tapping into the lighting circuit to allow the Auto Meters to be controlled by the dimmer switch, just like the rest of the dash gauges."
